We may assume that college is just attending class, passing exams and paying fees which is true but to make it especially ‘kwa ground’ you need to have a college Plan.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧?

You will need your personal mission statement. This can be derived from your goals.
Do you have college goals? If not set some goals. What do you want to achieve when in college?

• Is it good grades?
• Is it to network?
• Is it to growth so that you are to attend as many personal developmental workshops as you can
• Is it to maximize on talent development. What is your talent? What do you love?
• Is it to understand and draft your career path?
• Could it be all of the above and some more?
• What do you do best? Does it match up with your mission?

𝐒𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐮𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠.

• Identifying your goals and priorities
• Knowing your career path
• Choosing the right college that can help you achieve these goals
• Plan financially; where will your fees come from? Parents/Guardians, fundraising, bank, side hustle?
• Plan academically; plan to attend classes. Have your timetable close.

Study plan; how, when and what and with whom will you study? Have a study plan.

• Investing in friends and networks
• Investing in extracurricular time
• Time management
• Have contacts of key persons in college
• Enjoy college…

Many college students just attend classes and miss out on a critical planning and evolving stage of life. 2-4 years of college is a good time to make plans.

Make this time count.
